The White Rabbit and The Rabbit Hole
I knew The White Rabbit only from a Halloween party few years ago. Spooking through a garden filled with bloody white toy rabbits and hellish lighting, the Rabbit Hole with its ascending platforms of grass and stone provided a perfect party and dance area.
The European classic modern restaurant is housed in the beautifully restored 1930s Ebenezer chapel. It has become one of Singapore’s leading classic institutions since opening in 2008. The unchanged church architecture provides an ambiance of serenity, space, fresh air, and luxury. Staff was slightly slow and unattentive but very professional and polite in execution, from wine tasting to even preparing the Crepes Suzette right at your table on a mobile kitchen wagon.
Regarding the food, most of us five friends of the evening agreed that it belongs definitely to the best cuisines of the country while not being too complicated or 'spaced out' (especially in a plating sense) as fine dining can sometimes get.
The al fresco bar Rabbit Hole with its view on meadows and sculpted bush-rabbits is known for its variety of gins with herbs from the house-own garden, paddles and fruits.
And here the impressions, the menu, and some food samples :)
